Description: Calling History Seekers! The History Keepers & Seekers Rendezvous is a gathering of people presenting the history of Tehama, Shasta, Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Lassen, Plumas and Siskiyou Counties. Are you fascinated by the collecting and interpreting of artifacts, learning about the past or interacting with other history buffs? Then this event is for you. Enjoy a family-friendly affair offering: 1) a traditional flag-raising ceremony; 2) historical & genealogical groups, libraries and museum booths; 3) rustic/restored classic trucks; 4) a Valve Cover Race for the kids; 5) live entertainment by Pastors David & Brian, the Northstate Ukulele group, and the Mountain Messengers; 6) the newly expanded Nelda Babb Birds of a Feather exhibit; 7) history authors: Steve Schoonover & Nancy; 8) a local fiber arts group demoing spinning/weaving skills; 9) a tribute to Chinese immigrants via the Chew Family exhibit; 10) lastly, a fundraiser barbecue lunch of hamburger, cheeseburger and hot dog meals. The desire of the TCM Board is that the people of Tehama County and surrounding areas have a wholesome and enjoyable, family-friendly experience getting acquainted with the past. So, mark your calendars: Sat., Sept. 12, 2026 from 10am-2pm, at 275 C St. in the City of Tehama. Museum admission is free but donations are always gratefully accepted.

The evening begins with a guided kayak tour of the lake, giving participants a chance to soak in the calm water and golden-hour views before we eddy out along the shoreline. From there, the vibe shifts into full-on campfire magic. Gather around a gas-lit campfire for an evening of guitar playing, singing camp songs, storytelling, and community connection. S’mores are often on the menu, and participants are encouraged to bring a folding or camping chair, snacks, and a sandwich for dinner/supper to fully settle into the experience. As darkness falls, the night culminates in a laser-guided tour of the stars, where the sky comes alive with constellations, stories, and cosmic wonder. Bring your own kayak or rent one from PRPD to join in the adventure. For those who want to enhance the experience, consider downloading the Sky Guide app ahead of time—there is little to no cell reception at Boat Ramp #2, so come prepared.
