Location: For Transportation NOW members, it's all about being part of the movement. The movement of people on buses and trains, that is. Since our inception in 1992, Transportation NOW has been a proud advocate and enthusiastic supporter of public transportation in Riverside County. Our efforts have produced results that will last a lifetime, and ensure that bus and rail usage remains an integral part of this region for years to come. Members of our grassroots group – ranging from elected officials to community activists to everyday transit users – are committed not only to addressing regional transportation issues but meeting the needs of our individual communities. And with growing concern overcrowded freeways, rising fuel costs and emphasis on finding cleaner and greener ways to get around, Transportation NOW is focused on the challenges that lie ahead and dedicated to making a real difference. Description: Hemet Valley Art Assoc.'s biggest event of the year, our 19th Annual Evening of Art will be held at the Hemet Public Library in Hemet on April 18, 3-6 pm. The afternoon of the the event, student art, curated by their teachers, are blind judged in 5 categories: Painting-2D, Other Media - 2D, Photography, Digital Art, and 3D Art. In a ceremony that evening, cash awards are presented to the 1st-4th place winners. The students' art is on display as is art from the association's gallery on Harvard. There's a basket raffle, silent auction, and live artist demonstrations throughout the evening. Hors d'oeuvres and wine are provided. Tickets $15. You can pick yours up at the gallery @144 N. Harvard, Tue-Sat., 10:00 am-4:00 pm. up until the day before the event or get them at the door at no additional charge. Your attendance helps fund the event for next year.
