Description: Doheny State Beach invites the community to take part in a Community Beach Cleanup on Saturday, April 18 from 8:00–11:00am, meeting at Doheny State Beach. Participants should park in the furthest parking lot before the bridge and meet at the picnic tables closest to Lifeguard Headquarters. These monthly cleanups are a great way to give back while helping protect our local coastline. Cleanup supplies will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own recycled bags, buckets, gloves, or other supplies to help make the event as zero-waste as possible. All ages are welcome. Parking fees are waived for volunteers, and a parking pass may be picked up from a staff member at the event table. A signed waiver is required to participate and can be completed online at https://www.parks.ca.gov/doheny.

Arrive early (9am) to use a (single or double) kayak or stand-up-paddleboard for an 'on the water' cleanup provided by Westwind Sailing! (max 4 pieces of equipment per party). Description: FREE event for the Community. Celebrate our Earth with a day outdoors in Vista’s OWN beautiful 14-acre Botanical Gardens on April 18! Connect with nature and go GREEN at this FREE fun event! We start at 10 am with activities for the kiddos, live music, and vendors for food, plants, gifts, art and more! Children will make origami ladybugs and Noodle Necklaces, handle worms and compost, plant sunflowers, blow on bubble baskets, sort trash, paint 'Earth Day Rocks!' and visit the fun-filled Children’s Garden. Enjoy music by Vic Moraga on guitar, Monte Vista’s Ukulele Club, and Mission Meadows Kids College Dance. This year we welcome a new addition - the Amplified Earth Teen Band Showcase from 1 to 3 pm. Experience our nine Ricardo Breceda sculptures, starting with the slithering Sea Serpent in the Children’s Garden. Our GrowGetters Plant Sale includes succulents, flowers, veggies, herbs, and gardening advice. Check out our Garden Shop filled with crafts, snacks, plants, and treats for all.
