Description: In 2026, monthly Guided Nature walks will be held on the second Saturday of each month, except January and December. The Guided walks are led by volunteer State Parks Docents and provide an opportunity to observe wildlife at the park and learn about their natural habitat, as well as to learn about the natural and cultural history and geology of the area. Tours of the interior of the historic Anderson Ranch House have been temporarily suspended while renovation work proceeds on the building. Walks begin at 8:30m am. Meet in the parking lot at 8:15 for an opportunity to observe the birds and other wildlife found in the picnic area. The walks take between 1.5 and 3 hrs, depending on the route taken. Steady rain will cancel the walk. Dogs are not allowed on the park trails. The park is located in Lake County at the southeast corner of Clear Lake, the largest natural lake completely within the borders of California and the oldest lake in North America. The park entrance is between Lower Lake and the City of Clearlake on Hwy 53. No pre-registration is required. The Event Cost is FREE

Description: Guided Nature Walk Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 8:30am at Anderson Marsh State Historic Park Join us for a guided nature walk on Saturday, April 11 at 8:30am. Come and see what spring is bringing to the park. The April nature walk will be led by Roberta Lyons, a volunteer State Parks docent and President of the Anderson Marsh Interpretive Association. The walk will begin at 8:30am and will last between 1-1/2 and two hours. The route taken on the walk will depend on the weather and the condition of the trails. There is no charge for the guided nature walk and parking is free for those attending. No pets are permitted on the park trails which pass through a protected Natural Preserve. Bring binoculars and meet in the parking lot at 8:15am for time to experience the early morning wildlife that can be found in the Ranch House picnic area. Everyone is invited to take a walk in the park, learn about what this Lake County jewel has to offer, and experience the benefits of getting out into nature for some healthy exercise. Anderson Marsh State Historic Park is located on Hwy 53, between Lower Lake and Clearlake.
