The Job Forum: Free Job Search & Career Advice
Date: 2026-04-08T01:00:00Z
Description: The Job Forum assists job hunters to take effective job hunting best steps to get hired! Join us on Zoom every Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday for job hunting meetings with local business experts from inside companies who advise, answer questions, suggest ideas for your situation, and connect you to others to help your job search. Every Tuesday, The Job Forum offers 1 on 1 advising with flexible hours. Every Wednesday and most Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, we host panels of experts from a variety of Bay Area companies who meet job hunters through Zoom meetings to help YOU with your job search. All industry programs and job search skill building sessions are free to attend. The Job Forum is volunteer-run and receives extremely positive ratings and referrals from grateful job hunters and SF Bay Area companies. For 73 years, The Job Forum volunteers have provided this nonprofit service to assist job hunters, fiscally sponsored by the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce. So many people have lost their jobs. Job hunting nowadays is isolating, often there is nobody talking to job hunters and no word about applications submitted - just silence! Contrary to that depressing situation, The Job Forum offers job hunters access to business managers to talk to and answer your questions.

Alpha x Blastoff Hackathon (for kids!)
Date: 2026-04-11T20:00:00Z
Description: No prior experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to build. The Alpha x Blastoff Community Hackathon is a free hands-on building event for kids aged 7–11 in the San Francisco area. In a single afternoon, participants work in small teams to take an idea from concept to a working product. Teams move through a simple four-stage process: defining a problem, building a basic prototype, improving it with feedback, and presenting the final product to the group. The event ends with short team presentations and awards. Each team is guided by Alpha student leaders (3rd and 4th graders) who act as coaches, helping teams stay organized and move through each stage of the build. The goal is simple: give local kids a fun, structured opportunity to build something real and share it with others.
