More informationClay Heads with Michelle Solorzano
Date: 2026-02-28T10:00:00
Description: We are thrilled to welcome Michelle Solorzano to the studio for Clay Heads, an immersive, hands-on workshop led by an artist whose work stopped us in our tracks when we first saw it at NCECA last year. Michelle was featured as an emerging artist, and her trajectory since then has been nothing short of inspiring. Michelle brings a depth of experience as ceramics faculty at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and as an artist-in-residence at Laguna Clay and American Museum of Ceramic Art (AMOCA). We feel incredibly lucky to host her here for this workshop. Over two full days, participants will explore sculptural approaches to building expressive clay heads, focusing on form, structure, proportion, and surface. This is a rare opportunity to learn directly from a visiting artist with a strong studio practice and teaching background. ✨ Bonus: Michelle will also have an exhibition on view during her visit, giving participants and the community a chance to see her work up close. Spots are limited, and this workshop is expected to fill quickly. Join us for a weekend of focused making, inspiration, and connection with an exceptional visiting artist.
