Date: 2026-04-17T19:00:00-07:00
Description: Friday, April 17 - 7:00 PM Saturday, April 18 - 7:00 PM Sunday, April 19 - 2:00 PM St. Joseph High School Community Theatre is thrilled to present The Sound of Music at The Clark Center! Known for their show-stopping musical productions, SJHS Community Theatre is sure to bring you another show full of heart and life. This wildly talented cast features students from 4th-12th grade from SJHS and throughout the community. You do not want to miss their performance of this iconic musical! The Sound of Music is based off of the true story of Maria von Trapp, former postulant at the Nonnberg Abbey. During her postulancy, she is given the task to become the new governess to the seven von Trapp children: Liesl, Friedrich, Louisa, Kurt, Brigitta, Marta, and little Gretl. Although their father, Captain Georg von Trapp, is a stoic man who does not allow music in his home, Maria brings a new liveliness and joy into the von Trapp family's life, a joy that had not been there for many years. Amidst their rediscovery of music and familial love, the von Trapps face real-world heartache as Nazism begins to take hold of Austria, their beloved home country.

More informationMastering A.I. Prompts for Small Business Solutions Without the Tech Jargon
Date: 2026-04-25T20:30:00Z
Description: Feel like everyone’s using ChatGPT to magically run their businesses — and you’re still stuck wondering what to even type? You're not alone. Most small business owners have either tried AI and gotten weird, robotic results… or haven’t touched it at all because they don’t have time to figure it out. The truth is, AI can actually help — if you know how to talk to it. This 90-minute, hands-on workshop is built for real people running real businesses. Not tech experts. Not marketers with full teams. Just folks like you who want to write faster, create smarter, and stop wasting time staring at a blank screen. We’ll focus mostly on ChatGPT, but also show how tools like Canva can level up your content game when used right. This is a participation-heavy workshop! We will be creating prompts together in real-time. We recommend bringing a laptop to follow along.

More informationLocals and Legends: Celebrating the Music of James Taylor
Date: 2026-04-25T19:30:00-07:00
Description: The Next Chapter in a Growing Santa Barbara Tradition Following last year’s powerful community celebration, Locals & Legends returns with a renewed vision and a fresh musical focus, continuing the mission of Santa Barbara Records and The Granada Theatre to spotlight the artistic heartbeat of our region. This year, the collaboration turns to the timeless catalog of James Taylor, exploring his warm melodies and poetic storytelling through the voices of Santa Barbara’s own musicians. Santa Barbara Records artists, Omar Velasco, Celeigh Chapman, Mendeleyev, Will Breman, and Jess Bush, will bring Taylor’s most cherished songs to life in newly reimagined arrangements supported by The Santa Barbara Symphony under the direction of Music and Artistic Director Nir Kabaretti. Alongside highlights like Carolina in My Mind, Fire and Rain, and Country Road, each artist will also perform an original song inspired by the spirit, style, and legacy of James Taylor—creating a bridge between his iconic songwriting and the contemporary voices shaping Santa Barbara’s music scene. Rooted in collaboration, powered by local talent, and guided by a shared spirit of community connection, the 2nd Annual Locals & Legends deepens this emerging Santa Barbara tradition—one where local musicians reinterpret legendary music while contributing stories of their own.
