Title Sponsor Union Bank joined forces with San Diego’s largest human service agency to launch the fund-raising event. With over 100 participants and sponsors from all over the county, the agency was able to raise funds that will benefit the 22,000+ families that NHA serves each year.

Description: The Neighborhood House Association (NHA) had the opportunity to show off its social service programs on a national scale when the Congressional Black Caucus Institute (CBCI) 21st Century Council came to San Diego in November for its quarterly meeting. As part of the program for this four-day event, NHA treated nearly 100 members of CBCI to a tour of one of its Head Start sites, as well as NHA’s Nutrition Services kitchen, Senior Service Center and Family Services Center. Members of NHA’s staff and board of directors were also able to collaborate and network with CBCI officials throughout their stay by participating in seminars, workshops and social activities with the attendees. CBCI members left America’s Finest City with a positive and lasting impression of San Diego and its community services.

As one of the largest Little Italy neighborhoods in nation, San Diego’s Little Italy is home to many one-of-a-kind boutiques, galleries and shops for quality items that can only be found in our neighborhood. Some locally owned business will be offering in-store specials and discounts for shoppers to enjoy, including longer business hours to find those perfect gifts for everyone on the list on Saturday. However, the importance of shopping small all season long has never been greater. With a wide array of boutiques, galleries, pampering services and restaurants, you can find something for all, including yourself, from fashion accessories and home décor to good eats and gift cards, come out and support local and small businesses. If you prefer to skip shopping in person this year, online shopping is available from any of the Little Italy’s local businesses as well as gift cards for future use. Some businesses are also offering virtual personal shopping and curbside pick-up. All businesses will be following all State and County regulations ensuring your safe shopping and dining experience.
