Description

The Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (KCHCC) continues the tradition of celebrating Dia de Los Muertos with its annual event this Sunday, November 5, at the Kern County Fairgrounds from 1-7 PM. The event is a celebration of life, love and death, which originated in Mexico but has also taken root in American culture. As part of the tradition, friends and families use this time to honor deceased loved ones by paying tribute to them in the form of memorial altars that display their loved ones’ favorite mementos such as photos, food and drinks. Dia de Los Muertos is considered a day of cheerful celebration rather than one of mourning.
